Just saw Verruckt's 185mph video,was wondering has anyone else gone 185 in an S or is this a record?

Default Thought I got my speedo just as far over, with revs at or past 7000...
...and with even taller 235/40-18 tires than his 225/40-18's. The way the redline hashes start at 6800 makes it kind of tough to quickly tell if you're at 7000, or 7100, or even 6900 for that matter when glancing down at your odo on a freeway at night when you're moving nearly a football field per second. I staked my claim at 180mph, based on speedo at ~177mph, with taller tires making it 180mph. Verruckt's 185mph computed is based upon the static (unloaded) diameter of his 225/40-18's, multiplied by the gear ratios by 7100rpm.

It only takes about a 1/4 mile threshold braking to stop from 180-185 in an S4.

No. 3rd and 4th have slightly shorter ratios on the RS4. Other ratios are all the same.

Default Well I know the speedo goes further up than S4 - Vic aka Taiwan Simpply took me for a spin to 290Kmh
and he only backed off due to lack of highway, there was plenty left under hood.
