Just wanted to thank a few folks for their help....Ferris, Boss Hogg, Zaphod Beeble...
I posted a thread earlier this week about some fault codes I was getting (see link).
Well, my dealer called and said that it was a BPV that caused the fault codes. After everyone replied to my post, I called my dealer back, and metioned what you all had told me.
The dealer said that the MAF was not the problem and he was very firm about it...while all of you were saying that it was the MAF.
I mentioned the AW forum and the response I got from you folks and he still didn't believe me.
Well I just got off the phone with the dealer again and he said that it was indeed the MAF that was causing the faults, and was quite impressed with the knowledge that this forum can produce.
...anyway,he replced my BPV..took her for a test drive and the Check Engine light was still on. That's when he tried replacing the MAF and that did the trick. He was very impressed, we spent about 15 minutes talking about the credibility, and usefulness of forums like this.
Again, thanks to all who responded to my thread. You very well may have saved me hundreds of dollars down the road.
Thanks - Wayne
