I made an interesting discovery tonight. When I leave the car in "D" I have aboslutely ZERO rough shift issues. The trans feels stock like. However, when in tip mode, the 2-1 downshift is rather jarring.

Anyone else experience this? I wonder what the TCU is doing differently in TIP mode. I am going to recode the trans module right now OFF of 00032.

My guess is it has something to do with holding first gear with the 00022 and 32 coding.

Tomorrow I'll return it to bone stock and see what happens.

I told Sam that I wanted to retain stock-like feel. No banging or clunking. He suggested retaining the dampers, but removing the PMW to reduce slippage during the 1-2 shift. He said that this would produce quicker, firmer shifts without being jarring. I'm talking with a ZF trained tech tomorrow to get a better understanding of what exactly this means.

Also, are you using a GIAC Tip chip? How will the Tip chip affect this?

But it is quite an abrupt shift. I was told it is normal but if I can avoid it (which I can now) I will!
