Ladies and Gentlemen Boys and Girls: it's Time for the STOPTECH question of the day...
Ok,
SO I've had my kit for 5 months now. Love it! almost no arguements, but for those that do have it. here's my question:
When running Hawk HPS street pads or axxiss, has anyone noticed that when it rains the initial bite of the pads is similar to the "known rain" problem of the a4 2.8's which makes the first push of the pedal almost musch? Once you press the pedal again, you are good to go and it feels different when braking in the rain. Is this caused by the pads being harder compound i.e. more aggressive?
In the Dry, they are Phenomenal! no argument. but in the wet. I just wanted to see if others have had these questions/issues/experiences like I have. It's not a problem, it's just something to get used to.
Again, the Stoptechs are just amazing. I'm really just curious as to feedback from the board here about wet braking conditions/exper. with the kit.
thx,
ONLY ONE MORE DAY UNTIL 2 days of QUattro fest heaven!!! whooo hooo! PIR here I come!

I was at PIR and SIR last year with STOPTECHS in the rain.
The system works. I use a more agressive pad on the track. Braking increases as the rotors and pads warm up. This might be the "rain issue" you mentioned. Try different pads!

Normal
Same effect here driving in heavy rain. Scary the first time but once I knew what to expect, it was OK. You left your dust shields intact right?
Axxis pads held up somewhat well at the track. No fade but the pad material looks cracked and abused. Switched to Pagid Orange pads for track and they perform and look fine.
