So, I went out today to practice my launching.

I usually blip it between 3,800 and 4,200 a couple of times, and then on say, the 3rd time, on the wayto 4,000 I slip/drop the clutch and floor it.

I thought I had the launch down pretty well - almost never smoke the clutch, car squats and takes off nicely etc.

BUT then, one time this afternoon, I don't know what I did, but I kinda floored it and dumped it at the same time from about 3,800 and the thing took off like a rocket and I got all 4 tires chirping like mad.

I couldn't repete it.....every other time I'd dump the clutch, the car would squat, the revs would drop about 2k RPM's and the car would take off, but that one time, the revs didn't even drop down, the car just took off like a bat out of hell....

Any ideas?

and then clutch again while having throttle pressed to build more rpm and then you dropped clutch again?

That's what I think happened.

even more if I freaked out - now I kinda don't care because I plan on getting an new clutch anyways, so I just blip, blip, blip and dump it....

This one time today though, I don't know what I did, but no clutch smell or anything and the car just screached off the line without the revs dropping much..........

Maybe it was just the asphault covered in sealant or something that has less resistance.

The S4 can actually launch faster, with a quicker 0-60 on slightly damp pavement compared to hot dry pavement.
