My understanding as well - Remember when Strat sold MTM? That had nothing to do with Hoppen, which

upset hoppen, and (I assume) why strat no longer can sell MTM

True, but that still doesn't change the fact that Hoppen is an MTM reseller.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great product, but Hoppen is an MTM dealer, NOT an MTM tuner.

right, like I said below, Strat sold MTM, which was the same MTM chip that anyone had...

and those that came from Strat had nothing to do with Hoppen. So, both Hoppen and Strat got their MTM chips from MTM and did nothing further to modify them.

I can easily believe that MTM engineers were in the US, and probably stayed at Hoppen's place since it was the main MTM US distributor. But any work done was just for the purpose of the chips that MTM sold; to everyone, Strat, Hoppen, etc.
