Life is good....
For a lot of the summer I was battleing a boost issue and because of that the car did not get driven much and when it did I was running it in stock mode (APR Stage I box)and not using much boost. To be honest I have been so busy this summer with the new wee one, Work and sailing that I did not spend much time working on the issue. Well, last week I knew I needed to address the issue (CT State inspection coming due) and started doing some research and pretty quickly found a tear in my TBB. So that was replaced with some new DV's and the car is back to its old self.....drove 400 miles this weekend and had forgotten how impressive this car is on the hi-way. Had fun at a toll booth with a new 335 and he was pissed, in typical BMW owner form, when this 7 year old Audi kicked his butt out of the gate :-).
To add to my joy I took the car for its inspection this morning and I was the first car that passed, there was a boy racer Honda and a ratty old E36 Bimmer before me.
Now I just have to get the Voghtland's and TRE's installed and she will be that much better.
Cheers,
Jim

this always gets a chuckle out of me. last february i began my journey to fix my CEL issues..
i took it to a friend-of-a-friend's choice of audi mechanic, he replaced the primary o2's and front brake pads (they needed to be done bc i was getting some shaking when i would slow down).
kept throwing o2 codes and egt's as well. at the time i didn't know what any of this meant. oh, and the new brake pads he installed squealed like holy hell.
put in some brake pads i remembered i had from a while back (oem s4, lucky me!) and the squealing went away, ended up doing the rear o2's and egt's myself.
i'm getting good at this, i'm thinking.
then i did piggies.. then an fmic.. then thought, what the heck let's just go for the gold.
wow you never see the addiction coming.
now, 8 months later, my snowballing interest in fixing my own car issues has now become a stage 3+ obsession. having the engine honed right now and then i'll be piecing the beast back together. varr excite.

I actually only got a CEL on the way home from Lime Rock .....
Labor Day Monday....was doing some overtaking on RT22. In my younger days I did almost all the wrenching myself on my Audi's, been driving them for 17 years. As I get older and the fact that I have graduated to the B5 platform my learning curve is pretty steep, use to be pretty good on the type 44 platform though LOL.
Cheers,
Jim
