I am interested in purchasing a 2001 S4, this is the car i am thinking about buying. I was wondering what things i should look out for when purchasing these cars. What items should I make sure are good? I have always wanted one of these cars since I was a little kid and I can finally buy one out right if I want. thanks for the help

I know the turbos are an issue and these have been replaced. The clutch has also been replaced, I understand that these cars are known for issues. I am just wondering what are major "RED LIGHTS" to watch for. I have always owned new cars and have not purchased anything with this many miles on it. Please give me a little advice.

I'm also interested in an S4. I have been driving a 1996 A4 for sometime now (i love it), and recently have come across a 2000 S4. It has bad heads, apparently it jumped time and bent some valves. Owner is asking $2000. Though the body appears to be in excellent shape, the high KBB is just over $3,000 (car being in excellent running condition). I'm not ok with $2,000, but I want to be fair to both myself and the owner. SO I'm just looking for opnions. Things I'm considering are: 1). a set of heads is gonna run me around $400. 2). I will be doing the rebuild work myself.
