Anything I should keep an eye out for? It is a 6 speed with about 45k miles, black on black beauty. Thanks.

Default not really things you'll be able to tell if you aren't mechanically inclined...

1.) turbos
2.) rear main seal
3.) timing belt
4.) suspension dampeners
5.) intake hoses
6.) wheel bearings
7.) water pump
8.) cv boots
9.) stains on the seats...oh hey!!! there's one

Default Nice car, just buy it!!! j/k...(more)

look through the archives for S4 buyers guides...there are a few out there that will walk you through a pretty comprehensive outline of things to do before, during, and after the purchase.

Spend days/weeks reading through these sources to determine if the car is up to par...then when you've decided that its been perfectly maintained, washed every week, babied from day one, and never had a problem, you'll buy the car, be stoked for about a week that you found the only clean blk avant in the nation...then something will break and you'll fall of that cloud you were on and end up in the same unreliable boat as the rest of us!

Does it have an existing 50k warranty or is it CPO??? A warranty would be nice after 50k...trust me!

If you really want some honest advice, give me some mo info and i can help,

good luck bud

Default thanks. i'm pretty mechanical, but...

most of those are things only a shop would be able to check out. i'll also check for stains in the cargo area. ;-)

Default private party or dealer? chipped or stock? ask for maintenance records

run the VIN Carfax (not gospel but better than nothing).

Default dealer (non-audi), stock but the in the pics the tailpipes look like they are logo-etched

could be an aftermarket exhaust. it appears to be super-clean in and out. btw, i like your setup.

Default Thanks, the S4 is a great car and the Avant is quite unique(m)

I was lucky to find this car in the Classifieds. About your car, if it has an aftermarket tailpipe (i.e. cat back) it probably has a chip. But if the car looks like it's been well taken care of, go ahead, take a test drive, bring a friend for 2nd opinion. Good luck!
