Default Looking for a cat back exhaust for my 00 S4

I have a 2000 S4 tiptronic and I really want a better sound and look from the exhaust. Does anyone have any suggesions on what to get, where to get it and even better where I can get it installed in South Jersey.

Thanks

Default In Jersey, deal with security if you haven't already...

Almost all Jersey residents in this forum have had their cars stolen at least once.

As far as exaust... I just got the AWE Twin2 installed with LaBree downpipes. Everyone who hears this setup LOVES it. It has a deep, intimidating, but quiet rumble at idle, but it is not the least bit annoying to drive.

Default They are right. SECURITY FIRST. Killswitches, aftermarket alarm system, and/or DIY security mods.

Meet some locals to get advice on security. This is no joke. Doesn't matter where you are in Jersey (or NYC), it's all higher risk than most anywhere else in the country. DO IT NOW.

As for exhausts, there is a lot of information on the different exhausts available in the archives, just do a search. Everyone seems to like something different so just go with what you like. I chose the Brullen because it's very quiet with just a bit more aggressive note to it, plus I got it cheap used.

Thats not good news to hear the first time on a forum. Should I get lojack? Is there a website that I can go to to see the exhaust your are talking about. How much should I expect it to cost?

Default IMHO, forget Lojack. By the time it's stolen, it's too late and...

...the support from the Police is not very good. You need active anti-theft devices, not a passive locating device. And I should know...I was the first one here to fall victim (to my knowledge) and the police didn't even investigate or follow-up with me.

Go to the next Audi or S4 meet in your area and talk to people about what they have done to protect their cars. Nothing is failsafe, but you MUST do something. And multiple layers are best. There is very little info on this here on the discussion boards or any other websites because it is speculated that the thieves are here too. You've got to meet people and earn their trust.

In the meantime, don't let the car out of your sight!

Default Neuspeed G2.....

Sounds great. Excellent build quality. Easy to find and it is reasonably priced.

Default Security

Well, looks like security is everyone's biggest concern. Been driving the car all over the delaware valley, NY and PA for the past year without a single problem. Though I do not think I would be very happy if it were stolen so I will head over to my local car shop and get someting done. Still looking for an exhaust, thanks to everone who responded.

Default There are plenty of security mods that are known about only within the S4 community.

Not all security shops are going to be privy to them. Plus, many of the mods are free or low cost and easy to DIY. Definitely get together with other locals and find out what you can do. Usually, all you need is to show up with an S4 and people will be happy to help. People are not going to pass out advice online because they can't verify whether you're legit. Yes, it's that big of a problem in NJ...
