Heres your data, I just approved a bunch of equipment for install that wasn't up to the standard specification grade equipment. Why??? It saved $8 grand to the project owner, and thats all they care about. Who cares about getting well tested and designed equipment when your project comes in under budget and thats all the corporate people see.

That was a few hundred items being 20-30$ cheaper.. Now imagine 20,000 autos where you save $5 each sensor by going excusivly with bosch. Then after many many part failures, you supercede 1 part MAF, with hitachi. And force bosch to bring some of thier sensors up to spec "new" spec. Which may have been the original before the value engineering reduced the specs to save costs.

thats not data its speculation... this car was 38000 dollars! audi was going for a bmw 5 series killer so cost of production is not a main concern as they can pass some of that off to the consumer.... again were talking cars that were not "budget" in their day in any way shape or form.

Sorry, to break it to you. Everything not hand build = budgeted to every nickel. Audi probabaly has 10x larger accounting staff than engineers and designers. Guess what the BMW 5 series it killed, also well budgeted.

these are german cars... budgeted does not equal cutting corners.... not like ford

I did this mod a few years ago and I have been going threw batteries
never put it togther before but I think this it the cause

4.5amp draw on the battery for 10 minutes every time I shut the car off
