Default Magnetic oil drain plug still seems to be working.

This is about my 3rd or 4th oil change since I got it. Not as much metal on it this time, thank goodness.

Here's a picture of the residue after I cleaned it off.

Here's what the first time looked like. Seems to be a difference to me, anyway, fwiw.

You can get them at ECS, but they are cheaper (and safer to your credit card) elsewhere.

Sucker for a marketing campaign. There's an oil filter for a reason.

Default keep metal from clogging/ripping the paper element in the filter, so the oil filter can have more

area to filter the other stuff out of the oil. Granted, there isn't much metal in mine, but every little bit of protection counts.
It's kinda like the cooler afterrun thermoswitch - it doesn't prevent turbo failure, but it sure can't hurt.

Default is good to see what is in your oil .. i don't think anyone is cutting the oil filter apart

to see what's inside there.. so i think it's a good idea to have one .
