Default Is this a manual boost controler or voltage clamp?

When my car was converted to K04s and a GIAC X-chip the installer connected this little device to some vacuum lines. Is this an MBC or voltage clamp? I removed it just to see what would happen because I'm like that. What risk am I taking?

Default Its a boost controler...The car might run into boost cut now.

Not really a big risk.

Default It looks like Dawes device manual boost controller

I used the same thing on various turbo saabs. I still have one sitting in the garage. It was devised by Gus Mahon, the guy who had his minivan running 12's in the 1/4 mile. I think he had a big IC from a turbodiesel truck on his '89 chrysler van. He had some great turbo info but was killed in a motorcycle accident last year. Click on the link to read about MBC theory and how to adjust it.

http://www.dawesdevices.com/boost.html

Default voltage requires "electricity", those are pneumatic lines...

therefore there is no way it could be a voltage clamp

Default YOU could run into MASSIVE boost spike because the X-chip is meant for KO3's..........

Its meant to keep the boost in check when run paralell to the system. Im assuming you did not do any type of fueling change, or are going the homebrew solution. But you really need to put that back on there. Like i stated GIAC-X is KO3 software. when you request 1bar on KO3 (as the ecu thinks is still in place) is going to produce ALOT more boost with KO4's. You could damge things if not in place with you current setup
