Mass Airflow sensor
Does the RS4 MAF work in the S4 with out any problems or complications, keeping in mind that I have GIAC software, apr downpipes w/ testpipes and bi-pipe with a BMC high flow air system

there's a GIAC chip for upgraded fueling/turbos, but not just an upgraded MAF
your x-chip could be tweaked for a larger maf, but i don't see why you'd do that unless you went larger turbos and fueling. K03's don't need a larger MAF or fueling.

Re: there's a GIAC chip for upgraded fueling/turbos, but not just an upgraded MAF
My MAF is on the way out, and KTR Performance informed me that the MAF in the 2000 S4 isn't the best one to replace it because of the amount are that will pass. They aren't sure if the 2001 will work with my car. I was a little out of the loop on exactly what he was saying, however, Im going to need a new MAF reguardless of what one goes in so Im just looking to maximize the potential of my car without upgrading my turbo's.

Re: you could always just rewire the MAF and put in the newer Hitachi sensor from 2001.5+ cars
Thats what KTR was going to see about doing to my car, see if it's all going to work out for me. By doing that I wouldn't have to upgrade software?

I assume you currently have an A box ECU (MY 2000 6spd w/ Bosch sensor)....
If you rewire for a Hitachi, you will need to change boxes. Assuming you are a 6 spd still, you would be best off going wtih a M/T box, which come off 2001.5/2002 6 spd S4s. You also need to make some changes via VAG-Com to recode your cluster.
If you search the archives for the Hitachi MAF conversion, Nick Gustas explains in detail what must be done via VAG-Com.

yeah, so it might just be easier to replace it with another bosch
but if you're planning on going stage 3 or something in the future, then having M/T box would be good for that.
