I recently installed a Sony Ericsson HCB-300 bluetooth phone kit in my S4. People I talk to say the sound quality is very poor. I spliced the microphone that came with the kit into the location of the original audi mic.

Just curious if anyone else has had problems with the mic that comes with this kit? Anyone upgrade to a better quality mic?

I had a smarteq car kit that I ripped out to "upgrade" to a bluetooth car kit. The smarteq kit worked and sounded great. Been dissapointed with the bluetooth upgrade.

FYI I have a SE z520a phone.

any issues. However, I don't have anything to compare it to other than the fact that everyone says it sounds just fine. It used to sound aweful and I recently upgraded my phone and it made a dramatic improvement so I'm guessing it has alot to do with the phone as well...maybe you could try a friends phone and sync it up to your HCB-300 and see if that makes a difference.


FWIW: I did use the stock mic enclosure and packed the internals in there just like the stock mic. I'm not sure if that made a difference or not though.
