Michelin PS2's: Asymetrical Question
I'm about to buy a set of the new Pilot Sport 2's after a brief test drive on another S4 in the rain, where they really perfomed well. The tire has an asymetrical tread pattern and is marked with "outside" on the sidewall, which means unless the tires are sold separately as left/right fitments, the tread on one side actually faces a different direction left to right. This looked weird in practice...am I correct in assuming this is just the way they are designed? Or are these tires meant to be purchased in left/right sets (seems that would make them even more expensive to stock and there's nothing on the tire that says left/right).
Any current owners of the PS2's care to comment? Any reason to think that, if the tread setup is fine with facing two different directions that it would lead to any handling issues, weird wear patterns?
Thanks.
