Default missin' quattro... and a rant.

Every time I'm forced to drive a non-quattro car I'm amazed at just how effective quattro really is. With yet ANOTHER week spent in a toyota crapolla it's sobering that even the weenie 4 cylinder under the hood can easily overcome available traction if the streets are even a hint damp. No leaving the line under full power with this thing. Yeesh.

On another note, despite that I immensely enjoy driving my S4 I'm really really REALLY disappointed and frustrated at the amount of time this car spends at the dealer for repairs... I've got a stack of service reciepts that would make a non Audi die-hard run for cover in 2 seconds. <sigh> It's pathetic that this $41,000 piece of technology can't manage to stay out of the dealer between oil changes.

W_T_F am I gonna do when the warranty runs out? The thought of keeping this car outside of the warranty makes my checkbook bleed yet there's no other car that I'm even interested in. Buying a first-year production A4/S4 considering the history with this one is unlikely. Depressing.

You tell them!

I am with you, could be a smashing car if it had the correct backup/support and perhaps better testing facilities???

Default two phrases that should not be in the same sentence

"Toyota Corolla" and "leaving the line under full power"

Default What other problems have you had?

I'm looking for a 30K mile or so 2000 S4.
What sort of skeletons should I look for in the closet?

Default Re: What other problems have you had?

Off the top of my head...

- Check engine light that took 56 days to fix--car at the dealer the whole time. Audi almost bought the car back.
- Transmission, twice (in right now)
- Throttle body sensors
- Cruise control (several times)
- Headlight washer pumps (multiple)
- Wheel bearing
- Tailshaft seal on the transmisson leaking
- Seat frame
- Trunk lid supports
- Hood latch

Lots of other little stuff I can't remember.

Depressing.

Default Just get an extended warranty from one of those online places. I have some info on it

somewhere if you do a search. It was on a a6 2.7T, not sure if the S4 is less/more expensive. I think it has a link to get an online quote also.

Default Aftermarket extended warranty! I'm 99% certain I am doing it...

Mike recommended warrantyUSA.net, and I'll probably get that one!
