Must share
I know most people here have a modified S4, but let me share with those who do not. I just had installed an ABT Chip, K&N air filter and Bailey Values into my 2001 S4. I had never driven a chipped car before, but had heard stories from those who have. My final report - whatever it costs, however long it takes, do it. It is absoltuely incredible. The added horsepower and torque are purely astonishing.

I felt the same way when I chipped my A4...
Now I'm just a few days away from feeling that same Magic. I thought that I was king of the road in the 1.8T...but its not thing like the 2.7T on steroids!
I've been in a chipped S4 recently and I'll never feel the same way about a stock S4 again. After just a short 5 min trip in the chipped S4, my S4 feels slow. This was a month ago! So yes...a chip is in order...do it do it do it!

I hope you still feel the same when...
...you're forking over $8k to have your blown turbos replaced after the dealer denies your warranty due to chipping. 8^)
Happy with my unchipped S4 (...for now).

Glad you like it. Pretty crazy experience eh!
I' remember the very first time. I was seriously scared! Now I can't wait to drive every day!

It was mostly a joke...
I chipped my A4 and it was great. I've just been happy with the stock power of the S4 so far. Of course, if they really want to get me they can...I have Forge BPVs. 8^)

remember once someone posted about...
something like...
first test-drove the S4 at dealership "WOW"
first bought the S4 and drove it "wow"
1000 miles later chipped it "WOWWWWW"
3 months later "it's ok~...<and thinking of DP's and exhaust or maybe even k04>"
You've just passed the point of no return~

Re: Must share
I see my experience is similar to most. I went to a place in Connecticut called Speedsport Tuning (www.speedsporttuning.net). They said that these engines can easily handle the added power from a chip, as long as you replace the Bailey valves (which I did) and keep everything maintained on schedule. He strongly suggested an oil change every 3k miles.
However, I do think when the new S4 comes out, I'll have to look for a trade in. I really wish they would release a 2 door convertible coupe bolstering 300+ HP. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
