Default My car really \"blows\"

What the hell is the matter...I go 500 miles on new turbos and already getting a strange noise from the right side. I wonder if this is because my tech did a bad job or forgot something or what. This is soooo beyond ridiculous. I guess I\'m taking my car to sunset now, maybe the techs there can do a better job.

Sorry to hear about all your problems, Ben. That really "sucks." Good luck...!

Default Take it to a hill, leave it out of gear, and foget to apply the parking brake

Long, steep, cliffy type hill or one that leads into an ocean or lake would probably be best. Let it sit there for a week and then it will be totaled for sure.

Or you could just keep consuming turbos... one every 500 miles? Audi is bound to figure it out soon and buy your car back to stop the losing streak.

Good luck,
Jessica K

Default I wonder if they screwed up the lubrication to the new turbo and it’s fried already...

I understand that these have feed and return lines ON THE TOP (note that the return lines are NOT on the bottom...part of the problem) and that the lines are EXTREMELY small. I bet some ham fisted mechanic kinked or otherwise screwed up an oil line and your new turbo has already been burned up from lack of lube.

For sure take it somewhere else and ask them to specifically look for some damage from the installation.

Jim, do you want to open a shop? You seem to be the nation’s number 1 Audi repair shop at the moment ;-)

Default Could be bad work, or could just be "infant mortality" curve.

Most part failures occur very early, or very late, in thier planned life cycle. An inverse bell curve. You might have just gotten a bad one, it could've passed all QA tests, and still fail prematurely.
