My FI cf hood is fading to white-anyone else have this problem-can it b saved or paint?

Is it just clear coated? If so, then yes you can have it sprayed.

i doubt its the clearcoat thats fading. its more than likely the resin or epoxy.

They Gel coat it-no clearcoat, but if I do clearcoat will that eliminate the "fade"? .

i'm not sure. gelcoat is usally sprayed into a mold...
 

and when the part is removed from the mold, the gelcoat comes with.

i'd assume you'd have to sand down the entire hood to remove the gelcoat and then clearcoat. but i have a feeling its the resin thats deteriorating because a gelcoat isn't that great of a topcoat (its used with cheaper, PER resins).
