All is within easy reach, once bottom "trim" panel is removed.

Sure does....helps to clean up the airflow under the car...
...and has the side benefit of keeping the bottom of the engine clean :-)<p><a href="mailto:andy_hedin@hotmail.com"><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/A_Hedin_Sig.jpg" BORDER=0></a>

Re: My first oil change...
Pretty easy as far as oil changes go. Use a set of ramps.
(Never use a jack for oil changes or other stuff where you
will be under the car). You'll need the "large" oil filter
wrench (most auto parts shops stock 2 standard sizes).
Pick up a bag of latex gloves while you are there, as oil
invariably runs all over the place when you remove the
old filter (S4 is no worse than any other car).
Removing the lower engine guard is a lot easier than it is
on my old (1991) audi- but you'll still get some gravel and
crap dropping on your face.
Remember- the capacity is nearly 7 qts. so make sure the
container you drain the old stuff into is big enough!!
The only "problem" I had was getting the washer off the drain
plug. I couldn't get it off, so I've been reusing the old one.

Oh, I thought it caught parts as they fell off.
Ditched it on my 91 years ago after ice tore it to pieces. At the speeds I drive (< 90mph), it makes "naw diffawrance". On the S4, dunno.
