My freshly lubed rear impressions : Day 1
So after hitting 12K on the old Odometer I decided now would be a good time to change my tranny and rear diff oil. The main reason was to get all the particles caused by break in (mine and the tranny's) out. The other reason was I wasn't happy with the resistance and time it took for the tranny lube to heat up, when cold. I decided to try my favorite lube manufactures, no not Johnson & Johnson (makers of KY),75w90 Synthetic gear lube in both the tranny and rear diff.
After ~50 miles(3 of it at the track) for it to work it's way around here are my initial impressions
1)It was 50 degress this AM and shifts were effortless ( the real test is 32 degrees days).
2)2-3-4-5-6 upshifts and downshifts feel significantly more fluid. The tranny seems to fall into place and going through the synchro's are alot faster. I usually Double clutch all downshifts, but for ****s and giggles I just went for it, and it was smooth like butta.
3)1-2 upshift slightly improved.
4)going into 1st still not that cool.
I'm going to run this for a full month to make sure that there is improvement and no adverse effects, before I put together a group buy( shhh did I say group buy?).

the whole process. Thanks
Step 1) jack up car
Step 2) call dealer and have them do it.
Seriously I paid the dealer to do this one,That's right I'll install downpipes, but not change tranny fluid. The problem is you need a filler bottle to do it and It's actually a lot of trouble. Maybe I could do someone local if they'd volunteer to buy the filler bottle.
