My Milltek was leaking from every joint!

I thought it was just the rear joint but every single one was leaking. Those clamps (I used paste too!) just don't work!

I just don't think clamps work that great. While I was at the shop 2 other S4's were there and had exhaust leaks. One was an APR GenII and the other was the Velocimax. So it's not just the Milltek.

Does anyone have any other suggestions to fixing these leaks (other than welding) once and for all?

My suggestion is buy a Scorpion! :-p Just kidding. Did you try any of that

paste or whatever others have talked about?

S4MadMan 12-10-2001 08:25 AM

Yep. Borla. Just kidding...seriously, it's the QUALITY of the install. Best to DIY if you can.

Did you NOT read my post? ;p

I used Wurth paste.

my borla was the same story

borla band clamps are good...i don't like the ones that come with the milltek...too chintsy.

couldnt agree more, DIY give you more time to pay attention to detail and make adj. accordingly

especialy if you're working with someone who knows what they're doing

My install was Proff. done.

and everything was done perfectly. The alignment, fitting and everything were all done right. The exhaust clamps just didn't hold.

The only leak that was audible was the rear section. When we put it up on the lift, you could see every joint had been leaking to some degree.

So even if you THINK you don't have any leaks, you might be surprised to know you actually might.

No leaks. I usually have them professional installed, then check periodically.

S4MadMan 12-10-2001 08:38 AM

It's all in the install. Well, usually. Gotta make sure there is no play/movement.
