of its mileage.

You guys think I can still do a K04 mod?
Other than the traditional plumbing and clutch upgrades necessary for a KO4 mod, is there anything else I should consider?

Or should I just accept the fact that I waited too long!!!

...sigh

Default Do a compression check and change your trans and diff fluids

Oil pressure check wouldn't hurt either.

Other than that, if everything seems tight go for it, make sure your hoses are in good shape.

Default PaJohn is very close to hitting the 100K mark. Last I heard 92K chipped since like 1K or so and

original turbos.

Default I'm just over 75,000....plan on doing KO4s at some point...

currently have 22,000 miles on my seconds set of KO3s so I want to wait until something happens that requires a lot of labor and do it all at once (ie...these turbos fail, or dropping tranny for clutch...)....I don't see why the engine is a problem if you do what was rec below by Nick...

Default I asked Todd of AWE a similar question a few months back.

Apparently, there is little concern with the engine internals (crank, pistons, rings, etc) as long as the car was well maintained. You may need a valve job at some point, but a compression test would reveal any weakness there. I plan on going with K04's, RS4, clutch, etc when my original turbos finally die, maybe around 125,000 or so.

Default Mr. Piggie once described our engine as "pretty much bulletproof" if it's properly maintained...

...and I'm glad to see owners here who are comfortable making mods at higher mileage. I hope y'all keep us posted; I may decide to hang onto mine longer.
