OK, Here is my situation.
I drive my car to work and back everyday. Just yesterday my car was making a very wierd metalic clanking sound coming from the belt area. I put a long screwdriver up against the power steering pump and it sounded like it was coming from there but Im not positive...
I looked and my coolant is bone dry (car never overheated or anything funny so it must have had some) So I fill the coolant resevoir and I go about my business, about 5 mins into the drive my car is covered in smoke from the burning coolant on my engine/exhaust. I stopped quickly and opened the hood and I can hear a "hissing" sound coming from down behind the radiator or in that area. There was no coolant in the resevoir I just filled (bad news) but the wierd metalic clanking sound had stopped (good news).
So Im thinking whatever was making that sound had coolant running through it because when I filled the coolant, the sound stopped. Bad thing is that I must have a bad leak somewhere.
Can someone please tell me what pumps the coolant runs through and where that pump is? The leak must be at the pump Im guessing.
Thank you so much in advance. I am really stressed out right now.

Well you are correct, it must be the water pump...
