My S4 won't start
Hi guys & girls I'm new to this forum.
I have a question. I have a 2001 S4 and sometimes I'm having problems starting it. I bought a new battery but it keeps doing the same thing. I took it to the dealer and what they found was loose wiring under the dashboard, but they didn't find anything wrong with it. They said it was after market wires and they are not sure if what ever it was done to this car is related to the problem. The mechanics played with the loose wiring and were able to start the car but in other to do a full diagnostic on the car they need to check what those wires were used for. That's going to cost $650 just to check the wires.
Does anyone have an Idea what it is?
I reside in LA.
Or does anyone know a good shop cause dealers usally don't know what they are talking about.
Thanks for all your help.

If it's aftermarket wiring...how are we supposed to know what it is?
My suggestion would be to measure the draw on the battery when the car is off, and one by one disconnect any aftermarket wiring, until you locate the source of the draw...then trace the wire drawing the juice until you find the offending product.
This shouldn't cost $650. Take it to an independent shop if you're not capable of doing this yourself. They should be able to trace this down for less than $150.
