My stock suspension feels softer than the cars I test drove...
My friend and I both noticed this. He's a car nut and has an A4 Avant (among others) with sport package.
We both test drove the S4 together. I also let him drive my car. We both noticed my car to be softer than the test drive cars. I've had my car for about 2 or 3 months.
Any hypotheses on this?
So far I can only assume it may be low tire pressure (but it couldn't be more than 2-3 psi off recommended). I'll check today.
Or could it be steel vs. aluminum uprights?

the steering on my wife’s A4 w/sports suspension is “better” than my S4..
the gearing makes it “feel” lighter so the steering “feels” more precise.
That, combined with the A4 sports suspension makes the car feel lighter and more responsive.
It doesn’t have the ultimate handling limits of the S4...nor is the steering “actually” less responsive, it is just feel.
The car you buy will ALWAYS seem slower than the one you drove because you are already that much more used to it.<p><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/carssmall4.jpg">
