Default MY2002 S4 Sedan

Talked to Audi Client Relations today. They say the current S4 sedan will continue to be produced into the 2002 model year. This contradicts a number of posts I've seen here.

No info on when the new S4 will be introduced.
David Grijns

One thing that we've learned here is that Audi Client Relations usually knows very little

Default This is getting out of hand... Conflicting info inside!

Here is what I have issue with...

On one hand, Audi is releasing the S4 idiotsAVANT to the US in LATE 2000 as a 2001... why would it stop S4 production all together two months after this?

I bet we see an S4 produced in Sedan and AVANTi body styles throughout calendar year 2001...

The aVANt production really discounts many of these ludicrous claims!

I have to agree with RocketJohn. Stopping S4 sedan production at the end of 2001 but starting S4 Avant production at the same time simply doesn't make sense. An Avant but no sedan through 2001? I don't think so.

Default Does it not seem strange that no auto magazine or newspaper reported this little 2002 fantasy?

I guess George Achorn and Paul Grimes are either; a) a helluva lot better as journalists that the crew from C and D, Automobile, R&T, Autoweek, Autocar, Auto Motor und Sport and countless freelancers, or b) maybe a little less than 100% accurate.

For God's sake, it's journalism -- not a quite a science and a little short of art. I certainly hope you don't believe everything you read in print when it comes to future product from manufacturer, let alone VAG.

There is no 2002 S4 in the VAG product plan for North America. Or at least there wasn't in the 2Q edition.

Who knows, perhaps Kaiser Piech will decide to keep the car in production for North America just because of the whinging in this forum. Stranger things have happened… like the approval of the 12 cylinder VW D1.

I just can't help but think that none of you guys agonizing over whether there will or will not be a 2002 S4 would bet your pink slips on what was written in VWVortex.
2000 Nogaro/Silver - S4

Default Last year, didn't Audi Client Relations say there wouldn't be an S4 Avant?
