Narrowed down "no start" to Fuel Pump relay. Forcing contacts

closed gets fuel flowing and everything's wonderful.
Taken it out to test... it closes "strong" and contacts are clean. Sometimes when I turn the key they close momentarily but open again.
What problem could cause relay not to get continuous signal to close?
Appreciate any help.

Does it start when you do this?

Not sure that the fuel pump relay is supposed to be closed when car isn't running. I can't hear my (normally noisy) walbro when key is in on position (car off), only when car is running.

No, just tested that a few mins ago... Now I'm Really getting confused.

Forcing the Relay = Fuel pressure but no start, so I guess I need to check for spark next. Bottom line, something's telling my car not to start :(

I went through this same thing man... Did you check the...

Speed Sensor on the pass side--top of the transmission. Mine went bad, took a couple weeks of going through all the systems to find it. It didn' even show up in the VAG. I replaced and tested so many Relays, switches and electronic parts. Tested the fuel pump, did the sam exact things you are doing. Please, check this part out next man..

Thanks, will do right away. Assuming I won't be lucky enough just to

find the connector hanging off, are there any other ways to test it without swapping it out for a new one?
Thanks for the help.

There really is no other way of testing it. It is the gray connector on the drivers side firewall..
