Default NAV alternatives? what have you done?

Im afraid of an accident trying to read Mapquest directions off of my wireless Palm VII while driving (and of course, my car doesnt have AUdi NAV).
what are good alternatives? i like the voice idea because you dont have to look away.
but are there screen GPS that easy to see (or beep or talk also)?

regards
stu

Default Know your way around or figure out where you're going before you get in the car

These seem to be the best ideas, and are what any real man would do. Printed maps can even be used.
