Nav+ Upgrade
My car has the most outdated navigation system I've ever seen in a car. It's the one that comes with the 01 S4. I've been seeing that people have been upgrading to the Nav+ system, but I was curious if this upgrade is something that works in conjunction with the old navigation system, or if it's just an entirely different navigation system of it's own.

Actually it cannot. Need the TMC box to convert the Nav+ info into data at the cluster.
The US Nav uses the clock/data/enable lines to communicate. Nav+ talks CAN thru the TMC which relays it to the FIS on the Luxury CAN lines instead. FYI...

Yes, you need to replace the antenna too, and buy the disc set, and reburn them to work
You will also lose the CD player in the dash, so you'll need either a CD changer or a Phatbox to listen to that material.
