Re: need advice for tires
I can only comment on the SP9000 tires. I had them on my GTI VR6 for 2-3 years with no problems whatsoever. Great dry and wet road handling -- which is what I was after. There are tires with better dry handling, but IMHO, the SP9000 is a good bet. It's grippy, yet has a relatively long tread life, low road noise, etc. I'd recommend these. The Michelins are going to be more expensive, and I would guess they add a bit more dry traction to sacrifce a bit of wet traction, but I'm not 100% sure.

Well Bridgestone S-03 are excellent overall and arguably the best in the wet...
but fairly expensive. Think Edge racing was having a sale on these though last week if I recall. You should also consider Toyo T1s as well, excellent tire. I say go for the s-03, pilot sports, sp9000 or the t1s. Don't think you can go wrong with any of these choices, just comes down to price really.

Bridgestone S03s are best of the best. Less expensive, I like the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712s...
...I don't go balls out on the street so I like a nice, quiet, smooth, balanced tire. The 712 handles well enough on the street and is excellent in the rain. It's quiet, smooth and refined. At $100 each, for a 225/45ZR17, it's the best deal in town.

I love my S-03s. Great dry weather performance, Awesome in the wet, and better tread life than most
