while driving, or while sitting still with the engine running, when i turn the wheel all the way to the left, as soon as it hits the part where it cannot be turned any further I hear a whining noise coming from the engine compartment (a noise that sounds electrical, not mechanical). it stops as soon as I start turning the steering wheel back the other way. I have never heard this before. any ideas? tia

you sure it's not the ps pump when you're at lock?

lock- like when you turn to the left and can't turn anymore it's at lock
