Need help: Odd Valentine 1 hardwire question
 

OK heading out on vacation tomorrow AM. I have two Valentines hardwired in each of my cars. I've got a rental for the trip so I ran an aftermarket straight phone cord from the V1 down around the a A-pillar and eventually to the power outlet in the center console. I fire it up and it works fine. I attach the concealed display with the shorty cord and all I get is power to the main unit nothing in the concealed display. Is the OEM V1 hardwire cord different? It is a V1 version 1.8 (most recent) if that matters. I don't want to un-fish the OEM wire out of my cars.

Are both phone cords 4 conductor?

Ah...I see the cord I used only has a green and red...need to find one with black and yellow THANKS
