Need a little help preparing for a Vegas road trip...
Hey Guys/Gals,
I'm heading to Vegas soon and I'm putting a to-do list together. The S4 needs to be ready roll ; - )
I was hoping for a few suggestions on what to do before the trip and bring for the "just in case."
I know to change the oil, tire inspection/pressure check, washer fluid, break fluid, coolant check. I know I'm missing a few things.
What should I bring on the trip? Obviously I have the med kit.
TIA

The faster you drive the less you ahve to worry about. The last time I drove my car, I mena my old car, I made it in 8.5 hours from Denver to the Bellagio.
Remember, there is a gap of about 100 miles with no gas stations or anything, so make sure you know your mileage for fuel and check the fluids at each fillup.
Make sure your alignment and balance are good on the wheels, don't want to cause excessive or uneven wear on a 1500 mile round trip.
I wouldn't worry about it too much, I drive to Vegas at least once a year. Pretty brainless trip. If you drive at night though, you have to watch for deer and crap like that. The last time I drove at night we were heading down the pass in Arizona and it was like skiing the bumps. Deer carcasses everywhere, we had to pick a line and swerve through em, there were like 10 in a short distance, I think a Semi plowed through em.

Nah, I'm heading out next weekend.
Just missing Leno too. I really wanted to see him live.
How long are you going to be in Vegas? I'm going to meet up with a few AW'ers next Sunday for a pretty big meet I guess.

Well, I would first ask how long the trip is? then how populated the route is. From my point of view, I would check tire pressure, maybe take a torque wrench for tire changing and be done with it. Unless its a cross country trip i wouldn't see the need for changing the oil and brake fluid (MPO)unless you are close to needing them changed anyway. I've done numerous trips from Anchorage to Homer and Seward (~200 miles each) and up to fairbanks (~360 miles) with nothing more than checking tire pressure and topping off the gas tank.
