Need winter tire advise

Need winter tire advise
I live in Hoboken, NJ, so I don't get much snow through out winter but I do go snowboard which means I do need a good winter tire.
I was looking Alpine sport but wasn't impressed with the rating tire rack gave it.
I am now looking at the Pirelli 210 snowsport and Dunlop winter M2(or something like that). What do you think of these 2 tires?
Any other suggestions are appreciated
thanks<p><a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=4839">Lehigh S4</a>

Different, narrower rims and tires would be best.
in snow, wider is not better! Audi makes a 16" winter wheel for the S4, fits the brakes fine.<p>Jim De Arras

Re: Need winter tire advise
I live in CT, and have 22thousand miles on S4 delivered Oct 99. I uses Pirelli Winter 210 in narrower than stock size 205/50 with superb results. When the winter ended, I discarded the sick hopeless stock REO 40 tires and put on Yok AVS Sports in 235/45. I also replaced the stock springs with H&R while leaving the shocks alone. A fabulous combination.

I have had the Pirelli 210s -- had them from Jan. here in Buffalo, NY and was pleased. I used the
17/225/45 size, good dry road holding and quiet as well --<p><img src="http://members3.clubphoto.com/ron257065/Rons/photo1.jpg">

First bit of advice, you're on the right track. Whatever you do, do not try to drive this car...
in the snow and muck with stock tires. It will hurt you quick. I went with the Pirelli's (Tire Rack was out of everything else) on "17 Mille Maglia Spiders, and then started praying for snow.
