Nervous about taking my S to NYC
I'm going to NYC this weekend and it looks like the only car I have to take is my S4. I'm really nervous with all the stories I've read on here about cars/headlights being stolen in the NYC metro area.
Any tips/advice? Any experiences (good or bad) with midtown garages? They're all valet type garages (hand over your car and a key and HOPE no one pulls a Ferris Bueller while you're gone), right? Or should I try to find a self park garage?
Hmmm, give up the keys but have (hopefully honest) attendants, or keep the keys with no one watching. Which to choose?

There's a really nice self park at 58th and 8th avenue that is covered....(more)
Also, most of the thefts have been limited to NJ and not in the city, or north or west of Manhattan.

I live in NYC ..
and there's no reason to stress. Just don't park on the street. Also when my headlights were stolen(parked on the street), I was informed by the police that it had been occuring mainly downtown to Audi's.
Just park in a indoor parking lot and you should be fine. Even if you park at an outdoor gated lot, you'll have to leave your keys so you gain nothing.
By the way, on the weekends midtown is full of exotic cars..

NYC is why I got APR Valet mode.

I know of a really good and cheap garage midtown. It is in my brothers building. 37th Street Between 1st and the FDR. $5 for 12 hours. Really good prices. I will be parking it there tonight when I go to see Star Wars. Other than that garage midtown, I just look for a nice sized garage. I don't like the small ones, more chance of damage. Plus always give the car a look over before you leave. You might want to do this with the Garage guy so that they can't blame you for something they do. This is just a precaution. In 8 years of driving to NYC, i've never had a problem with a garage.

Thanks, I'll check that out.
I've parked at attended garages before, but my previous cars haven't been this nice or desireable to thieves.
Thanks for the advice.
