New engine flaps discovered!...and these would be for...?
Look inside the engine bay, right under the intake snorkel where it plugs in over the radiator.
Two hinged, hard plastic flaps. Probably to pass air through the radiator - but would air vents that small really make a difference.
I really need to stop looking around my engine bay trying to find funky things.

Darin was right in your linked post. These two flaps are also to aviod recirculation --->
at stand still. Amazing, they didn't use ball bearings on those. :-) Lesser cars have rubber flaps.
