So we finally found the car we wanted (2001.5 avant, 39k miles). The car has been serviced and is in good shape, but I'm sure there are a number of things I could do at the upcoming 40k service to make sure it's top notch. I'll do the hose and valve upgrades before chipping.
Anyhow, I was thinking:

Flush radiator (water pump?)
Change gear box oil (never did believe in "lifetime" oil)
Change diff oil
Plugs

Anything else I should do as pre-emptive maint at this time (on top of the usual 40k items such as oil + filter etc.)?

and use regular cooper plugs not plats. Turbos run better with them and you can just put in a new set every 10k. Even at this rate, its still cheaper than plats.

BTW. 40k is too early for the waterpump, right? More like 60k item?
