New S4 convertible anyone?
Okay, call me strange but I really like convertibles and I really like fast higher-end cars. I have a 2002 S4 now but miss my convertible Benz. My wife and I both converted from Benz to Audi (I got her a 2002 allroad) and I'm sold on quattro.
Anyway, I've been waiting for ANY car company to come out with an AWD convertible with real back seats (I have two kids that need hauling). It would also be nice to take the entire family in the convertible. The only car on earth that's AWD, a convertible, and has rear seats is a 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet which won't work because the rear seats are not designed even for kids. I'm also really sold on Audi and would love an Audi to be my next car.
But, the new A4 Cabriolet comes out and so far no AWD (and underpowered IMHO). Then the new S4 is announced with a perfect engine and specs but no plans to make a convertible version? I thought Audi was trying to compete with BMW and their 3 series with the 4 line? M3 competes with the S4, M3 convertible competes with?
I live in Ohio and there's been snow on the ground all winter here and I'll be damned if I'm forced to get a rear-wheel drive car again because car companies don't believe AWD and convertibles go well with each other. The local BMW dealer says that the 3 series convertibles sell the quickest. Hello Audi! Make your damn convertibles with AWD! (yeah, I know the TT is AWD but it has no back seat and the kids don't like riding in the trunk).
I had to get that off my chest and I feel a lot better now. I guess I'll wait 6 months to see if Audi has any tricks up their sleeves and if not I'll be stuck swapping tires each winter and spring with an M3 convertible. Any Audi employees listening?

I'll second that
I'll second that, but I'll accept a S4 also. I can't see why they wouldn't release a S4 convertible. They already have an ultra-rigid convertible that could handle the power of the S4. It wouldn't be much harder than dropping in the engine and charging more. And it's quite obvious that Audi is always looking to do BMW one better, why not make a car to compete with the M3 convertible? Can Audi accept users buying the M3 simply because Audi doesn't have a similar vehicle?
It's kinda got me pissed because they have all the pieces to slap it together, AND there's a market, AND other car manufactures have an option and Audi doesn't.
No, I'm not finished venting...
