New wheels and tires should be here...
to replace my very very worn blowtenza's- my question is this (devil on one shoulder, angel on the other) can I damage anything on the car by doing a few sliding turns and e-brake turns just to say farewell to the old tires?

If you do some ebraking, the last concern I would have is the tires. The car is sending power to all
4 wheels and you are suddenly locking up only two of them...not good from what I understand.
I would definitely beat the crap out of the old tires though. Sliding turns shouldn't really hurt anything as long as they are executed properly.

Waiting sure does suck..
Just stay away from curbs and such. Also make sure you inflate the tires up close to 40psi, otherwise you run the risk of running on the sidewalls.
