Default Compressor is always on when using air unless you press "ECON" button.

The compressor runs to remove excess moisture and reduce fogging in the winter, or something like that.

Default

The compressor often runs when ambient temp is above freezing to dehumidify the air.

same as the others.
the compressor is on regardless. i don't know where you live, but here in tn, with a high humidity, my car always leaves an alarming trail of water underneath and behind it in the parking lot and garage. but, it's just condensation from the compressor. j.
