NoVA Dyno Day Results

Thanks to everyone for coming out. I missed a couple names but here is the list of participants. I also have video from the event and I will be digitizing and posting soon. The VM2, Forge and Borla's all sounded awesome.

If anyone else has run on the Curry's Mustang dyno, shoot me your results, mods, etc. and I will add you to the spreadsheet. If anyone wants the spreadsheet let me know and I'll email it to you.

Looks good... one more time, whats the approx. drivetrain loss in the S4??

Killer Bee 12-15-2001 03:07 PM

would appear to be about 35hp (the APR in stock mode)

laissezfaire 12-15-2001 03:08 PM

looks like 14% = 35/250, assuming 250 stock is accurate..

laissezfaire 12-15-2001 03:09 PM

good post! you guys in NOVA psyched at all the pro racing heading your way next year?

e.g. DC + VIR?

JSD 12-15-2001 03:39 PM

I'm thinking its more like 18%...

The guy who ran APR stock mode had a VM2. Between that and Audi's conservative published HP numbers, I'd guess he was more like 260-265 at the crank, which would be more like 17-19% drivetrain loss. Call it 18% for grins.

At 18% loss, the guy with X-Chip and Borla is at 317 crank hp and the guy with APR and the VM2 is at 305 crank hp.

Still seems maybe a smidge low, but I think the tuners are all a little optimistic with their numbers anyway...

I agree, most stock S4's have dynoed at ~260hp at the crank.

when a strap comes undone on the dyno

Naw, its definetly more than 18% - BMW's are 17-18%, and they have a pretty efficient driveline

it'd be nice if it were that low, but its upthere in the mid 20% range - even higher with heavy wheels. Quattro is an efficient AWD drivetrain, but still not anywhere near 2WD...

APR chip in stock mode video

audio didn't come through. I'll be sure to have some videos with audio soon.

3.8mb mpeg - no audio
