So, I want to get relatively high DC source that I can access in my room to tinker with the myriad of old car audio equipment I have. So I guess I need to buy an AC to DC converter. I want to be able to run things up to 500 watts rms, so that would be 500watts/13.8volts=36.23 amperes. The converter in the link is rated up to 40 amperes at 13.6 volts. Would this be adequate? Should I get a small car battery to run in parallel? If so what kind of specs would I be looking for in that battery, obviously I would want to get the lightest/cheapest one possible. We run one of these for a whole display (about 15 radios, 10 speakers, + 4channel + sub + amp)

I admit it's not an ideal solution but it sounds great and didn't cost much

Been running it for around 10 years now and never had a single issue, can't remember the brand of inverter though.
