Default Oil blow-by around breather hose... problem??

I just replaced my BPVs (they're a couple years old) and noticed a lot of residue around the breather connector.

Why would this be happening, and does it look like a problem?

Default Probably a cracked or dried o-ring.

Pull off that hose and you'll see that there's an o-ring on the plastic coupler . . . No reason why you can't just pull the old one off and slap on a fresh one.

Default Thanks! Is this blow-by likely to be causing some of my problems?

periodically:

mixture too lean DTC

evap emissions purge valve incorrect flow

I can't get my catalyst readiness code to set

Clean it off and see if you can tell how quickly it again gets dirty and from where.

Default umm...make sure your 3 way check valve is installed in teh correct orientation

its the one that likes to crack after a while. pretty sure this could be your problem. you will end up dumping boost pressure into your evap system.

Default In my experience it is not unusual to get some buildup in that area, that

looks excessive. Could replace the o-ring. I would do what other had suggested. Wipe it clean and keep an eye on it.
