Oil return line leak - how easy to fix?
When I was replacing the bellypan on my 2001 S4 (6 speed), I noticed a slight oil leak from one of the oil return (drain) lines where it connects to the oil pan. I searched the forums, but would just like to know, how easy is it to replace the seals in those locations? I have a fairly good toolset including hex sockets, but would just like to know if you have to move a bunch of things to replace the seals. Are the seals just rubber O-rings or other material? Any other tips or things to be careful when replacing those seals? I assume I can get the seals from the dealer. TIA.

5 min job,
1-clean the area well with brake cleaner
2-get the right allen socket replace seal and gasket. 3-torque it to the righ spec |
Re: 5 min job,
Thanks... When I looked up there, it looked pretty cramped. Any idea what the torque value is? I actually have a Benley Manual on CD (for a 2001 A6) but find it frustrating to try to find info on it versus the old manuals (on paper).
