Oil smell, I think....
As a possible result of massive oil overfill, by 5 quarts or so, (dont ask how) everytime I turn the car on at all oil burning smells up the area.
Now I DID run out of gas about the same time...Damn 0 mi computer was actually accurate this time for some reason Causing the car to studder and finally come to a stop, smoking (from the motor).
I know on the oil cap it talks about the cats getting messed up from overfill, but not sure if that is it the problem (smell).
Smell is even in the cabin under usage of the climate control, specifically the ECON fan, but smells fine if recirc is on... Any Ideas?

5qt over fill....eeeeek ... I'm asking how?
I cleaned my engine this past weekend with some simple green and a hose. Took off all plastic engine covers and let the simple green soak in and then spray off.
If you got oil down the side of the engine it's going to take a while to burn off.... do a cleaning and then see what it's like.

You have an oil leak somewhere.... I have the same smell.
when i am moving all is fine, when i come to a stop, i get an oil small in the cabin if the AC system is on. Check the usual suspects, start at the top and move down... valve cover gaskets would be the easiest to see without a lift. Look for oil discoloration on the back of the heads, if it originates from the center of the back culprit might be the cam seal. If the ehads look clean, move all the way down to the oil feed lines on the turbos. PAssenger side seams to be the weaker link here. you won't be able to see the actual feed line, but will be able to see oil creaping around the center cartrage of the turbo. I can give you some first hand shots of what the last will look like:

I have the same problem w/ a suspicious oil leak that they found after my warrantee ended. If this is a known problem, why doesn't Audi USA repair it for us at no charge? The dealer even admitted and I quote: "It was poorly designed." I urge you to please call Audi to file a complaint (1-800-822-2834). If they get enough of them, then they will have to force a recall and acknowledge this as an issue. I've already called AudiUSA.
