All summer and most every other time the car has run around the 220 mark. Just making sure it is only the extreme dip from 40-30's to single and negatives that are causing me to remain at 200 and not something mechanically going wrong. the Coolant gauge is still @ 12 oclock. FWIW
Also, I AM starting to smell a burning smell on the passenger side ... not really oil, more rubber like, no signs of leaks on the ground or at the valve cover. Can these be connected?

yep it's ok .. mine does the same @ less than 50* F OT the oil temps are around 215 max
and in slow/relaxed driving up to 50-60 mph the oil temp can even go bellow 200* in 3X-4X * OT.
