Ok, did anyone think to check their oil during delivery?
I just checked my oil for the first time. I have around 3600 mi on my car, and it's ON MINIMUM! I have no idea how much of that was lost during the break-in period, and I have no idea whether it was full in the first place.
If anyone out there has the ability to check the oil on a brand new (i.e. < 50 mi) S4, I'd really appreciate it as a point of reference. |
I checked mine when I got the car home, along with all other fluid levels
Oil was right on the full mark. I've got about 1200 miles now and it hasn't shown any sign of significantly dropping.
I guess it's not unusual to burn up a quart during the first few thousand miles of break-in, so you should be OK. Just something to keep an eye on. John G 00 S4 99 A6 Avant |
Dealer told Scot Kight that 1-2 quarts use per 8000 miles is normal for this car

Up to 1 qt / 1000 miles is acceptable for this car

Re: Ok, did anyone think to check their oil during delivery?
My S4 was just below minimum upon delivery ~45 miles.
|
Are you sure? That means you'd be dry b4 your next oil change.
Was that a typo? Or would you mind citing a reference for how you know this to be true?
I always thought that the rule of thumb for old used cars was to never buy one that burned a qt in 1000 miles. Seems like a brand new Audi ought to do way better than that. |

All fluids full at delivery (22 mi.)

I was down to "min" after 2000 miles !?

Both mine and my friends S4's were delivered on Minimum from a Chicago Dealer!
