opinons from the field...labree dp's, stasis/koni coilovers, or camp system and custom screen setup?

S4mig@PEB tuning 11-28-2003 09:50 AM

not crazy about the camp and custom screen setup, but to each thier own

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 09:56 AM

I wish I had gotten stasis coilovers

S4mig@PEB tuning 11-28-2003 09:57 AM

ah but which ones? and what do you not like about your H&R's?

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:00 AM

I'm not sure which ones because I have never looked into it....

The ride of the H&R's is a bit rough compared to what I hear about Stasis. However, I have never actually driven in a stasis equipped S4.

S4mig@PEB tuning 11-28-2003 10:02 AM

Give me a while and I'll give you the chance. I'm going straight for the motorsports.

mass overkill as the tracksports is all anyone would need. But they make it so why not :P

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:03 AM

LOL! I would never buy those though. I could not justify almost 3 grand for suspension.

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:05 AM

really? it seems like the coolest boost gauge ever...what don't you like?

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:07 AM

would you do them before dp's?

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:08 AM

No question about it....

If I was modding all over again, I would do suspension before any power modifications.

DYOS4 11-28-2003 10:12 AM

Thats a lot of pot selling isnt it? :- )

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:13 AM

wow, really...i agree that the suspension on the car blows, but part of me always wants to go faster

...do you feel like the dp's are not that huge of a difference, or that the suspension is just more crucial if you only got 1500 or so to blow?
thanks for the advice.

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:14 AM

only a lb or so right? ;-)

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:15 AM

:X

Prodigy 11-28-2003 10:15 AM

im happy with my stasis/koni

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:16 AM

I just have the most fun going through twisties and to the track.

I prefer stock chip at the track so I can save my turbos from prematurely going boom. Plus, coilovers definitely make a bigger difference than dp's although they are about the same price.

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:20 AM

yep

doo 11-28-2003 10:23 AM

which stasis/koni would u recommend....motorsport...track....etc?

KJinDC 11-28-2003 10:24 AM

didn't you argue me down about that a few months ago afer your 1st (only??) track event?

I remember suggesting to someone that running stock was best and you countered about how good the chip was for the track. 2K2S4 jumped in and blah, blah, blah... the end result was you stating you had no intention of de-modding you car just to track it...

At my age, my memory ain't what it used to be but i do vaguely remember something akin to what i just described.

Glad to see you've come around though. :-P

how many more events have you done now? Are you enjoying it?

-KJ

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:26 AM

right on, thanks...gonna check if ach is open today. do you find you lap times affected much by

going to the stock software? just curious as im going to go autocross the car for the first time here in a couple weeks...wanna try and get the suspension in before i go.

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:27 AM

i was looking at the street/sport setup on achtuning.com

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:27 AM

You are absolutely correct and I apologize.

After talking to Matt about it in much more detail, I realized it was better off to run stock chip. I have not attended any more track events since, but I plan on doing many more.

DYOS4 11-28-2003 10:27 AM

HAHAHAHAHA i JUST asked him the same thing. HAHAHAHAHA.

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:29 AM

I haven't done timed laps and I am just a beginner :)

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:30 AM

=D

J.Moss@TorqueFactory 11-28-2003 10:41 AM

Good call Mig, Hope you give me a ring when you are ready.

mpwolf 11-28-2003 10:48 AM

villainS4 11-28-2003 10:53 AM

i don't seem to be able to get to a www. for your domain, it pings, but no browser? is there a site

there?

DocSlow (Mini Pig) 11-28-2003 10:57 AM

:p

number7 11-28-2003 12:08 PM

get la bree when you decide to do dps.

mpwolf 11-28-2003 12:13 PM

Coilovers, without a doubt. My favorite mod by far, brakes are my second favorite. The car is

already plenty fast stock on the track, the only time the stock power doesn't seem like enough is when jacka$$es in Corvettes don't lift after they throw you a pass.

S4mig@PEB tuning 11-28-2003 05:32 PM

I'm old fashioned. I just perfer to see a mechanical round gauge, not some screen simulation of one.
